You must be
Born Twice!

Do you know Jesus Christ? I don't mean do you know about Him, but do you really know Him? Millions upon millions attend church every Sunday, but how many are disciples of Jesus and are willing to lay down their lives for Him because of the love He has shown to them? How many even understand that what sets a genuine Christian apart from the others is the fact that God truly lives in them? How many think that being 'born again' is any religious experience?

But our problem is not something that attending church or a religious experience can fix. Until we are touched by Jesus to our depths, we are dead to God; only pretending to believe Him, trying though our manmade traditions, or own ideas to earn heaven; or having given up, we are drifting through life, trying to find a little happiness before we die.

I tell you, religion is not enough! Trying to be good is not enough! Being forgiven of your sins is not enough! You must be remade from the inside out.

If a rattlesnake should bite me and I forgave it for that, would that make it suitable to live in my house? Would it still not remain a rattlesnake? So it is with us. Forgiveness of our sins does not make us suitable for heaven, as long as we remain the same person we were born. We must be transformed into new creatures with new spirits and natures, suitable for the family of God. This is what the Gospel is all about. This is why Jesus came to die on the cross: that you and I might be forgiven and made new - 'born again.'

If you hear His voice calling you, respond! Do not harden your heart, but rather surrender your life to Him. Throw yourself into His hands and trust in His goodness and love. Not a blind leap of faith, but simply believing what He said in the Gospels. Jesus rose from the dead that you might have proof that He is the Savior and Lord. Trust Him and find life! I did.
