Threatening a New Holocaust

Young persons or those with early onset Alzheimer's disease may not remember what "Massive Retaliation" means, but many of us who lived through the Cold War, and especially those who served in Strategic Air Command know exactly that it means. Massive Retaliation does not mean an all out conventional response, nor a limited nuclear strike. It refers to an ALL OUT nuclear strike designed to totally destroy an adversary: military, industry, government, and population. It involves the targeting of multiple nuclear warheads on all large population centers, as well as all large military and industrial complexes. To use the Senator's own word: obliteration.

Never mind that Israel has hundreds of nuclear weapons of its own along with the ballistic missile, aircraft and naval systems to deliver them. Senator Clinton expressed her willingness to kill 71 million human beings in Iran, contaminate the world with nuclear fallout, and unleash Armageddon presumably to help garner the Jewish vote and to enhance the reputation of her "testicular fortitude." She then proceeded to proposing that the United States adopt a policy of using nuclear weapons to defend all friendly regimes in the area. There were no follow up questions in the debate to this outlandish answer, the employees of Mickey Mouse at ABC with ears attuned to entertainment value, apparently more intent on probing the truly important issues of flag pins and pastoral hyperbole. But for those who were listening, now we know what she will do if she is awakened by a telephone call at 3:00 A. M!

One would have thought that her response would be the news event of the campaign, but it was not to be, being overshadowed the the truly monumental story of Jeremiah Wright, who dared to lay some of the culpability for 9/11 at America's feet by inflammatory statements like "as you sow, so shall you reap."

Senator Clinton has said concerning the role of Christianity in effecting her views, “We know so well what Jesus said to his disciples in Mark, holding a small child in his arms, that whoever welcomes one such child in my name, welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me, welcomes not me, but the one who sends me…. Take the image we have of Jesus—I can remember so clearly walking up the stairs so many times to my Sunday School class, and seeing that picture that is in so many Methodist churches, of Jesus as the Shepherd. Taking that face and transposing it onto the face of every child we see, then we would ask ourselves, ‘Would I turn that child away from the health care that child needs?’”

Apparently, the 25 million Iranians under 18 aren't pictured by the Senator as being in Jesus' arms. Or is it because they can't vote in America and therefore are sub-human? Or maybe in her theology Jesus didn't come to save Iranians, just Americans? It is a bit ironic, that in defense of Israel, Senator Clinton has expressed a willingness to outdo Hitler by an order of magnitude by turning Iran into a whole burnt offering to the god of politics. Was she sincere in her willingness to incinerate 71 million people?

To my knowledge Iran has not threatened a nuclear strike on anyone, nor has it ever attacked Israel with conventional weapons, despite the rhetoric of its leaders. And Iran is perfectly within its rights under international treaties to develop peaceful nuclear power including the infrastructure for nuclear fuel. It is the United States and Israel that have repeatedly and flagrantly broken international law. Where is the IAEA investigation of Dimona? Why has the United States not fulfilled its obligations under the NPT? Where are the international sanctions on the United States and Israel?

Here's a question for you Mrs. Clinton, What if Israel launches a "pre-emptive" nuclear strike on Iran?

In view of Senator Clinton's proposed policy, what was so outlandish about Rev. Wright's statements? Yet the press largely ignored it!

Jesus taught - "But I say to you, do not resist him who is evil; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if anyone wants to sue you, and take your shirt, let him have your coat also. And whoever shall force you to go one mile, go with him two. Give to him who asks of you, and do not turn away from him who wants to borrow from you. You have heard that it was said, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR, and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you."

I call on Senator Clinton to publicly renounce her policy, or to publicly renounce any association with Jesus Christ.

Could anyone be elected president of the United States who agrees with Jesus? But then the christ of American Christianity is a different Christ who advocates assassination of presidents (Pat Robertson) and now apparently the incineration of nations. Mrs. Clinton, it was political expedience, not justice that drove Pontius Pilate to crucify Christ. And it was Pontius Pilate that expressed the mind set of many when he responded to Christ's statement that "Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice" with the now infamous question "What is truth?"

I can only hope that the Senator recovers and has a change of heart. It is my sincere desire to be able to replace this page with a tribute to the Senator as a Christian who shares Christ's love for all the children of the world, black and yellow, red and white.
