There were two prophets that traveled to a far country, a rich and powerful country.
The first man came fill a message that extolled the virtues of that land, how generous and good the people were, how heroic and godly their ancestors. He told them they were a special nation, chosen by God, a city set on a hill, the light of the world. And promised that if they would only give him 10% of their income, God would exceedingly bless them beyond all they could ask or think.
The people built that prophet a grand tabernacle, put him on television, and bought many books. And that prophet prospered and became exceedingly wealthy.
The second prophet came crying out that the land was an evil land that had long been in rebellion against the God of Heaven, and they were an evil people who worshiped demonic idols and opposed the poor and the widows. He said they were a war-mongering race which was spreading their errors throughout the world and stood condemned before the throne of God. They had killed God’s prophets and stoned those He sent to them to warn them. He had even sent His own Son, whom they drove out of their city and nailed to a cross. Yet the God of Heaven would pardon them if they would renounce their evil ways and surrender and return to Him.
The people of the land with one accord stopped their ears and rose up, driving that prophet from their city and stoning him to death outside the gates.
